Shopping for Everyone

Accessibility Statement

Nolima wants everyone to be able to shop our collections comfortably. Here's what we do, and how to tell us when we fall short.

What we aim for

  • Text that can be resized up to 200% without breaking the layout.
  • Colour contrast that meets recognised guidelines (WCAG 2.2 AA as our target).
  • Pages that can be navigated fully by keyboard, with visible focus states.
  • Descriptive alt text on meaningful images — every product image on the site carries alt text describing the piece, its colour and the view shown.
  • Clear forms with labelled fields, honest error messages, and no surprise time limits.
  • Structure that works with screen readers — proper headings, landmarks and link text that makes sense out of context.

Our storefront platform

The store is built on Shopify's platform, whose checkout meets widely recognised accessibility standards and is regularly tested — including by users with disabilities. The theme we use is designed with accessibility in mind: semantic HTML, skip links, ARIA labelling on interactive elements, and full keyboard operability for menus, galleries and the cart.

Within that platform, we hold ourselves to the standards above in everything we control: page content, product descriptions, imagery and navigation.

Known limitations

Accessibility is a work in progress, and honesty about gaps is part of it:

  • Some lifestyle photography is inherently decorative; where an image adds nothing a text user needs, we may leave it unlabelled rather than pad it with filler text.
  • A few third-party features (for example embedded payment widgets at checkout) are maintained by their providers; we pass on accessibility reports to them rather than fixing them directly.

If you rely on a feature we've described as accessible and it doesn't work as expected, that's a bug by our definition — please tell us.

Found a barrier?

If any part of this site is difficult to use, tell us through our contact page (or email info@nolima.co.uk, or call +44 7403 644157) with:

  • The page address and what you were trying to do,
  • The assistive technology you use (browser, screen reader, magnification — if any),
  • A screenshot if it helps.

We'll acknowledge within working hours (Monday to Friday) and work to fix genuine barriers as a priority — accessibility fixes jump the queue ahead of cosmetic changes.

Our commitment

Accessibility is part of good customer service, not a compliance exercise. We review new pages and features against the standards above before they go live, we treat WCAG 2.2 AA as our working target, and we consider this statement a living document — updated as the site evolves. Nothing here limits your rights under the Equality Act 2010.
